Some recent swaps.....

I love a good swap.   I wanted to share some of the delightful things I've received this week from some wonderful people.

The above two photos are of some goodies I received in a secret santa swap on Craftster.   Sorry the pictures are so dark!!  I technically wasn't supposed to open these until the 8th of December.  I saved the big blue surprise ball (not pictured) for then!   I received adorable pink polka dot earrings, a lovely candle, some cute nail decals and tags.  I also received this beautiful cowl in lace white and gray stripes!!  Thank you Ruby!

In the Altered Paper swap group we did a Christmas ornament swap.  I received this beautiful handpainted slate snowman ornament and some goodies for crafting.   My partner was Donna @ Red Apple Junction blog.   Thank you Donna!!

This tempting box of wrapped goodies was a mini 12 days of Christmas swap on Craftster.  My partner was Rita Sheehy.   I can't wait to put these under the tree!!

Are you participating in any fun swaps or gift exchanges??  Handmade is best!!

XOXO

A little bit of Lefton.....

I thought I'd post some pix on this rainy, cold Tuesday of my favorite vintage Lefton items.   Above is a cow pitcher.  So adorable.
Probably my very favorite Lefton items are the bluebirds.   SO hard to find and SO precious.  I found all four of these at my local antique mall for.....ready for this?  18 bucks!!
Lefton Toodles salt and pepper shakers!   Another cheap find at the antique mall.   I think I paid 4 bucks for them.

Have a wonderful day!   XOXO

A few of my favorite things

Posting some of my favorite finds and favorite gifts from the last couple months.  The teddy bear above was a long coveted item.  I found it while shopping on vacation in September.  Pink and blue=LOVE!!!
This little crocheted doll head gem was given to me by my Flickr friend Michele.   LOVE HER!
This was another gift from Michele.   I had never seen a doll like this before and I love the pink/red clothes and blue eyeshadow!
This adorable vintage plaque was made for me in a Craftster swap.   You can't tell in the photo, but it sparkles with glitter!
I picked up this MINT IN BOX pose doll while on vacation.   She's about 22 inches tall and perfect!
I've amassed a bit of a collection of "My Toy" and "King Toy" music box dolls.   My favorite is the bunny in pink and yellow.
I received this amazing clam shell vintage toy and a handmade surprise ball this summer.   The clam shell opens to reveal a bird that chirps!
I picked this pretty pose doll up in September also.
These adorable gnomes were only 99 cents a piece at the thrift store.

Hope you enjoyed my vintage finds and treasures!!  More to come!   XOXO

Some swaps that I've finished

This "momento Mori" locket I made for a swap on Craftster for October.   Unfortunately my patner flaked, but I had a wonderful angel.   I LOVEd this locket so much .   Above is what my angel partner sent me ( one of my themes was Poe)  I love it, so funny!

This cuff bracelet and hair clip I sent to my friend Shanon along with something she bought from me.   She is such a sweet gal,  I just love her.   Hope she enjoys these pretties!
I made this shadowbox for a Craftster swap called "Ho x 3" which means "holiday objects".  She likes vintage so all of the shadowbox ornaments are vintage and I did the box itself in red with aqua polka dots and crazy red tinsel.   Hope she likes it!

These ornaments were for a swap with "The Altered Paper" swap group.   We were to make our partner one large ornament or two small ones.  I also sent along a lot of pretty supplies and trims.   I hope you like them Donna!

I made this tag for the "Father Christmas Tag Swap" in the  "The Altered Paper" swap group.  I hope Karla likes it!   I even used Pennsylvania music paper (I live in PA).   All trims are vintage.

I will post more pix of the other swaps I've been working on.  Swap crazy!!  Now that we are slow at work, I have more time to do craft swaps.

Vintage Christmas is in the air......

I love this time of year!!   Many presents to make, buy and wrap!  Many swap packages to create in my various swap groups!!  Brisk air, pumpkin flavored everything, family, friends, things to be thankful for.

I have been a long time collector of vintage Christmas items.   I love the bright colors, the look, the thought that these things have survived for 40, 50, 60 years.   They bring me joy.   I'm better at taking pictures of my stuff than talking about it,  so please enjoy!

New Surprise Ball Design!!

So I was thinking about what to do with a very cute angel pose doll head pick that I bought several weeks ago.  My good friend Linda (feltedfolksies) suggested a really adorable felt angel body that looked easy enough.   Then I thought,  how can I make this something that I can carry in my shop and be so unique and awesome that I won't want to part with it??

The answer?   A surprise ball formed in the shape of an angel doll!!!!  As you can see in the picture,  I have formed arms and a skirt for the head pick,  and inside the cones are trinkets, treasures and prizes!!!!   So you have a beautiful kitschy angel doll to display any time of the year ( I am really stuck onthe blue/pink crepe theme right now) and when you can't take it anymore, you can rip into that bad boy and discover your treasures o'plenty!!!   I really want to make more of these for the shop if I can find some reasonably priced angel heads.    I almost don't want to part with this one, but I already know what's inside :)      I LOVE making surprise ball favors and treasures candles and such, as most of you know, so I am THRILLED to present this new design.   I am thinking of posting a tutorial for this, but if would be for PERSONAL USE ONLY.  Would you all like to see a tutorial for this??  Let me know.
